Food Court at Forum Vijaya Mall

If you are wandering in Vadapalani area hungry and looking out for a good restaurant, don’t hesitate, just walk-in to the food court in Forum Vijaya Mall, you won’t be disappointed for sure.

Generally in malls the food court is crowded and you will be roaming around the entire place to find a seat but not here at the Forum Mall, the food court is well designed, spacious – yes its really huge, lovely ambiance and good varieties of unique food stalls.

Just the right blend of stalls for the food lovers, there is Sbarro (Pizzas, Pasta and other Italian Food), Kailash Parbat (best known for its Pani Puri, Gulab Jamuns, Chaats and Punjabi food), Moti Mahal Deluxe (the inventors of Butter Chicken), ID (the specialty south Indian restaurant), Donet House, Sammy Sosa, Squeez and a lot more to choose from.

Few of the dishes which I would recommend you to try are Chicken Kheema Pizza from Sbarro (crispy thin crust and spicy), Achari Paneer Tikka, Butter Chicken Masala & Pan Ice Cream from Moti Mahal, Chocolate Milk Shake from Squeeze and Keera Vadai from ID. I am sure you will enjoy the food at all the stalls and will come back for more.

Nandos - Peri Peri Hot

A heaven for Carnivores in Chennai.

I was told sometime back that this summer Chennai is going to be Peri Peri Hot, i was wondering what is Peri Peri and then the Nandos Restaurant launch at Phoenix Mall, Velachery. We were invited to try the Peri Peri and i must say its wow. For those still wondering what is this peri peri about, below is the paragraph pasted from Nandos website.

"The Nando’s story started centuries ago, when the Portuguese explorers set sail for the East in search of adventure and the legendary spice route. The winds of Africa called them ashore and it was there, under the warm sun, in the rich soil that they discovered the African Bird’s Eye Chilli or PERi-PERi. A spice like no other, they used it to create a unique sauce that put fire in their bellies and ignited passion in their souls."

Nandos ambiance is really good and they have an open kitchen.

The drinks, its something new which i havent tasted, i ordered for a Pomegranate and it was served with a mixing of sprite and ice.

Live counter, all the food here are grilled so no oil used, diet Chicken :D

Peri Peri Sauces, yes they are for sale and you can visit the resto to buy them

This will help on how to order your dish

Then came our starters - Garlic Bread & Toasted Pita, i didnt taste it as i wanted to reserve all the space in my stomach for Chicken. The veggie guys ordered it and they said it tasted good.

Then came the star dishes - Espetada Rustica and Cataplana Algarve, loved it, the Chicken was little hard on the outside and soft on the inside, each pieces had a sun dried tomatoes in it, we wanted to try mild hot peri peri since we are trying it for the first time, to be frank mild is not at all spicy for me, i would go for hot, you can also add the hot/mild/garlic sauces for extra spice and they are kept in all the tables. This dish is their Specials and a must try.

The side orders, Coleslaw and fries.

Look at the juicy Chicken. Yum.

The veg guys ordered Peri Peri Panner

Spicy rice, Peri Peri Panner & Fries

Chicken Burger and Potato Wedges

and here comes the 9 pc Chicken Wings

and the yummy whole Chicken butterfly cut

he loves Chic legs

For the desserts we ordered Crunchy Roll & Chocolate Cake, i dont have the menu with me now so not sure about the exact names.

Boomerang

We were invited to Boomerang as part of CFG Showcase. Boomerang is a popular ice cream brand in Coimbatore and other cities in Tamil Nadu and they have opened a branch in Chennai.

All these years i haven't come across a bad ice cream because i just simply love them, name and ingredients doesn't matter to me. Hence i am not going to give names of the dishes or the taste, its only a photo tour.

In one line "i liked all the ice creams at Boomerang and it is very pocket friendly".

Warning: keep a towel with you before scrolling down, start drooling ;)

Boomerang is at # 66, Josier Street, Nungambakkam, Chennai-600034
