I like the buffet spread here at the Buzz, for all the food festival they offer, the buffet spread is real huge, you cant try all the dishes unless you have a big appetite, coming to the spread we had the Angoor Sherbet and Malai Lassi for welcome drinks.

We all were so full eating this and I thought its time to say good bye and head back home and the chef asks "Shall i bring the main course", we were like Whaaatttt....so we had only the starters....buuuurrrpppp.

Gateway Brunch

How about sipping your favourite cocktail, dipping in the pool and having a sumptuous brunch on a lazy Sunday morning, wait I am not talking about a Holiday here, you can do it on a regular weekend and that too without burning a hole in your pocket. Just hit The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway, in OMR for your Sunday brunch experience at Buzz, the all-day diner.

We were invited to try this experience and I started with the cocktails, all vodka base with strawberry, mango & litchi. Loved each and every drink, a sure way to soothe your nerve.

One thing which I liked most is the choice of food, they had a huge variety of breakfast and lunch options, just little from everything makes you so filling.

To start with I tried the Chicken Kebab, Madurai Kari Dosa, Madurai Egg Dosa, Onion Rings and some breads. Couldnt stop with one Kari Dosa :)

What amazes us is the spread which has from Crepes and Grills to Chaats and Egg Stations.

Mangolian staiton presents stir-fry action of noodles/rice/sauces, grill section includes meat/fish/squid/prawas, chaat includes Ragda Patties, Bhelpuri, Papadi Chaat, Samosa Chat. There is also a kids section where a table and few chairs are available for the kids to do coloring. The Kids station has mini pizzas, mini sandwiches, crisp friend chicken dumplings and cheese nuggets.

If you want to try your hands at cooking, you can join the chef at the live stations

This is a must try, the Vodka Pani Pooris

The Sunday brunch is open from 12.30pm to 4pm, cost Rs.1300 plus taxes per person for the non alcoholic buffet and Rs.1600 plus taxes for the alcoholic buffet. Both the brunches are inclusive of swimming pool access and 20% discount at Spa.

Upper Deck

Upper Deck in Taj Fisherman Cove is probably one of the best restaurant in Chennai which serves the bistro style food with a casual setting. The menu is a family traditional recipe picked from Northern France and North Western Italy. The cool sea breeze, the sound of the sea waves, the sea facing cabanas set the perfect mood for a romantic dinner. Open from 4pm you can enjoy a peaceful evening sipping their signature cocktails or a cup of coffee and biting some exotic Sandwich, Burger and Wraps. The dinner starts at 7pm onwards.

We were invited to try their new menu and since it was a dinner meet which started at 7pm, I couldnt take more interior photos as there was only little light.

The Malibu Pineapple cocktail just rocked. Perfect for a calm weekend evening away from the busy
City life.

The French Onion Soup - liked by everyone, one of the must try dishes

Roasted Tomato Basil Broth - The roasted tomato flavour enhances this dish and we finished this in no time

Leek Tart with Goat Cheese - This one was yum and everyone just loved it

Chicken Liver Pate with Walnut bread, Arugula & Apple chutney

COQ AU VIN - Mushrooms, Onion, Bacon & Pinot Noir

Giant Shrimp Grilled with Sea Salt - I am not a sea food lover so I had the Grilled Chicken with 4 cheese, it was nice, those who had this Shrimp said this was also good

Risotto Wild Mushroom - Carnaroli, Mixed mushroomm, Parmesan & Baby Spinach

Roasted Beet Salad - Arugula, Candied Pecan, Feta, Raspberry Vinaigrette

Polenta Skewers - Red Pepper, Mushroom, Pimento, Courgette, Barbeque Sauce

Salad Nicoise - Yellow Fin Tuna, haricots verts, baby greens, egg, olives - This was too good, a must try dish

The desserts - Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse & the Grandmas Chocolate Fudge Cake were also tasted good, we were so full by this time so couldnt finish the desserts.

A full course meal for two would cost Rs.2800.

Upper Deck is located at the Vivanta by Taj Fisherman's Cove, ECR, Chennai
